Rustic and modern. Authentic but also contemporary. They may be apparent contradictions, but this villa is it all. The unique design with the thatched roof and the execution in fresh stucco, oak trusses and modern masonry give this project an absolutely unique look. The rich greenery of the plants and trees add a rural touch.
A striking thatched roof. But in a refined way. That was the clients' wish. Our solution? We continued the roof package and stopped the thatch well before the overhang. The result is a particularly elegant look and - partly due to the use of different materials - unique mix of styles.
As if they swing open automatically when you walk down the path - no, the runner - to them: the two oak front doors are sturdy and, above all, very inviting. In this home, you don't just enter; you make an entrance.
From the entrance a long clear axis starts to the rear of the house. Through the modern living kitchen, the line of sight ends in a beautiful sitting niche. On both sides of the axis are the various rooms. Beautiful sight lines, spaciousness and optimal use of daylight; Lenz's signature could not be clearer.
Light-footed is the word for the staircase that seems to float in space. The harmonica shape and the contrast between the light wood and the dark steel give the object a playful character. A lot happens in this corner thanks to the special incidence of light. But because the staircase is exactly in step with the roofline, there is, above all, unity and balance.
At the rear, it is clearly visible that the villa consists of two separate parts, connected by an intermediate space. The large glass windows link the different spaces together to form a whole. The flat roof of the in-between space creates a secure character, both inside and outside.
